my story
My love of photography started long before I consciously knew that it was the path I wanted to take in life. Looking through my childhood photos a relative pointed out one day that in many images I was holding and playing with a camera. It has been an addiction ever since, an ever evolving passion that constantly bubbles inside of me and wills me to create that perfect image.
My professional journey started when I undertook and completed a 3 year course in Fine Art Photography. It was an invaluable experience to have as a portrait photographer as I take a different view of capturing images because of this. I guess I look at a portrait shoot as not only people and families but, moments and emotion but try and do it in an artistic fashion.
After completing my course and being a young, naive 21yr old with ideas of grandeur I started JD Digital Photography. After about 4years of personal, business and emotional growth I started to get the formula right, find my feet and build the business to what it is today. Nearly 10 years on it has helped shape who I am today, I have learn't many life lessons good and bad in the process and met hundreds of amazing people and I wouldn't change a thing. I still love what I do.
About me
I love my wife, my new baby daugther Lola, my two crazy dogs, the Melbourne football club, socialising with friends and family, sport of all kinds, tattoos, my job (if you could call it that, my friends think it is a well paying hobby), art in all forms, interesting people and good conversation.
I make lists, I like to be different, I set goals, I have tattoos, I get bored easily, my favourite song is Boom shake the room (don't hold that against me), I love to cook and experiment in the kitchen and I would love to photograph your wedding.
